Professional Development's "Meet, Greet and Swap" Wiki

Welcome!

We were so glad to have you share your lesson ideas with your peers. We look forward to continuing this collaboration through use of Wikispaces.

For those of you who are not regular wiki users, I've added some information and navigation tips below. For those of you who are fluent in "wiki" usage, please help our wiki grow with your ideas. Please note our wiki address is: http://pdswikiwalk.wikispaces.com .

What in The World is a Wiki?
I know you've all used Wikipedia which is a very large Wiki in which the whole world can add or edit the content. A wiki is just an online information source that can alternate between working like a web page and working like a blog. In other words, people who visit the wiki can add to or change the information. When you want to add to the wiki or edit it, you just select "edit" type in your additions, then select "save." Your comments are instantly posted.

Navigating
  • To look at different pages on a Wiki click on the tabs on top of the "Home" page or the buttons on the left in blue.

Posting on a Discussion Page
  • If you want to look at what’s posted on our Wiki just click on the "discussion tab" at the top of the page.
  • If you want to add comments to a topic, you just click on a topic, then type a subject in the “Subject” box and your comments in the “Message” box. Then hit Post” which appears outside the bottom of the message box. Your comment on that topic will be added for others to see. If you want to begin a new discussion topic, fill in a new subject, type your comments and hit "Post." Your topic will instantly appear for others to add to.
